Goal of the project is to develop a CW Doppler Lidar with a fine range resolution and simultaneous good velocity resolution. The approach is to use a random phase modulation. This makes it possible to obtain good range resolved measurements through computational analysis of the data to avoid the trade-off between range- and Doppler-resolution of a typical pulsed lidar.
Typical applications are studies of turbulent flow in complex terrain such as hills, buildings, bridges, or wind turbines.
